Transmission Actions

Transmission actions define how outbound messages are sent. You can also define the content of the outbound messages. 

1. Manage transmission actions

Navigate to Message Processing > Transmission Actions.

  1. View action
    Select an action from the “Action” dropdown list to view its details.
  2. Add action
    Fill in new action details and click “Insert” to add a new action.
  3. Edit action
    Select an action and fill in its details. Click “Update” to save the information.
  4. Delete profile
    Select an action and click “Delete”.

2. Transmission action details

Delivery tab:

  • Action Name: Action name.
  • Delivery Method: Type of message to be sent.
  • Additional options for message types:
    • SMS:
      • Contact Groups: Select the contact groups to send the message to.
    • SMTP:
      • Mail Server: The mail server to use to send the message.
    • HTTP:
      • Use Cellular Data: Select this option to use cellular data to perform HTTP Post / Get.
      • HTTP Profiles: Select the profiles to send the message.
    • Syslog:
      • Syslog Profiles: Select the profiles to send the message.
    • SNMP Trap:
      • SNMP Trap Profiles: Select the profiles to send the message.

Message Format tab:

  • Modify Message Body Text: Check the checkbox to modify the message content. Click “Settings” to specify the contents based on available fields and functions.
  • Modify Recipient: Check the checkbox to modify the recipient. Click “Settings” to specify the recipient based on available fields and functions.
  • For SMS message type only:
    • For Inbound SMTP Message:
      • Send Body Text Only: Select this option to send email body only.
      • Send Subject and Body Text: Select this option to send the email subject and email body.
