SNMP Trap Profiles

An SNMP Trap profile contains details of a server that Varius Message Router sends SNMP Trap messages to.

1. Manage SNMP Trap profiles

Navigate to Outbound Profiles > SNMP.

  1. View profile
    Select a profile from the “Profiles” dropdown list to view its details.
  2. Add profile
    Fill in new profile details and click “Insert” to add a new profile.
  3. Edit profile
    Select a profile and fill in its details. Click “Update” to save the information.
  4. Delete profile
    Select a profile and click “Delete”.

Note: Restart the VMR service for any changes done.

2. SNMP Trap profile details

  • Profiles: List of existing profiles.
  • Profile Name: Name of profile.
  • SNMP Version: Select the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) version for the connection.
  • Server Name/IP: Server hostname or IP address.
  • Server Port: Server port.
  • Community: Enter the community string of your device.
  • OID: Enter the OID of the SNMP object.
  • Host Up Time: Specify Up Time in numbers here.
  • Authoritative EngineID: The EngineID is a unique identifier for an SNMP engine.
  • Engine Boot Value: Specify Engine Boot Value in numbers here.
  • Engine Time Value: Specify Engine Time Value in numbers here.
  • Security Model: Select from the dropdown list for None, Authentication only or Authentication and Privacy.
  • Security Name: Specify the Security Name.
  • Authentication Password: Specify the authentication password.
  • Authentication Algorithm: Select the appropriate value from the dropdown list.
  • Privacy Password: Specify the privacy password.
  • Privacy Algorithm: Select the appropriate value from the dropdown list.
  • Variable Bindings: Manage variable bindings in this section.
