POP3 / IMAP Server Profiles

A POP3 / IMAP server profile contains details of a POP3 / IMAP mailbox monitored by Varius Message Router’s Email Poller. The Email Poller retrieves emails from the mailbox and converts them to other message types such as SMS messages.

1. Manage POP3 / IMAP server profiles

Navigate to Outbound Profiles > POP3/IMAP.

  1. View profile
    Select a profile from the “Profiles” dropdown list to view its details.
  2. Add profile
    Fill in new profile details and click “Insert” to add a new profile.
  3. Edit profile
    Select a profile and fill in its details. Click “Update” to save the information.
  4. Delete profile
    Select a profile and click “Delete”.
  5. Test connection
    Click “Test” to test the connection. The connection status will be shown.

Note: Restart the VMR service for any changes done.

  • Profiles: List of existing profiles.
  • Profile Name: Name of profile.
  • Protocol: Select POP3 or IMAP based on the nature of the server.
  • Server Name/IP: Server hostname or IP address.
  • Server Port: Server port.
  • User ID: User ID to authenticate with the server.
  • Password: Password to authenticate with the server.
  • Enable SSL: Enable this option if the server implements SSL.
  • Delete After Retrieve: Enable this option to delete the messages after the messages are read.
